Recover your deal

Lost your browser, switched devices, or worried the site went down mid-deal? Find your situation below. Take your time — the money is locked in the covenant and isn't going anywhere while you read.

Never enter your keys on a lookalike. Just to watch the escrow, no keys are needed: paste the escrow address from your recovery sheet into kaspa.stream — the balance and every transaction are public, visible without us and without keys.

Reopen the deal in a new browser or device

Your side of the deal isn't stored in one browser — the deal lives on the blockchain, and your keys live on your recovery sheet. Reopen it from there.

Steps

Open the deal by its number: escrow.officeforge.co/deal.html?id=N — the deal # is on your recovery sheet.
The panel asks for your key and service token — both printed on the sheet. Paste them in.
To restore the deal chat too, also paste the chat key from the sheet (optional — a deal works without it, you just won't see past messages).
Press Open deal — the panel rebuilds your side and re-verifies the escrow address against the server.
The escrow address matches the sheet? You're back in — fund, release, refund or dispute as before.

Buyer who hasn't funded yet? The funding key that builds the escrow lives only on the device where you created or joined the deal. Fund from that device (or re-enter using its recovery sheet), then any device can act on the deal.

What's on your recovery sheet

The .txt that downloaded when you created or joined the deal is the only copy of your keys. It holds:

Deal # and your role (buyer / seller) — to open the right panel
Your key — signs release / refund / dispute for your side
Funding key (buyer only) — builds the on-chain escrow when you lock the funds
Chat key — decrypts the deal chat; it can never move funds
Service token — authorizes reading and acting on your side of the deal
Escrow address — to double-check you reopened the right deal (and to watch it on any explorer)

Keep the sheet the way you'd keep cash. Anyone with your key and token can act as your side of the deal.

The deal can't hang — even if we vanish

Every deal has an on-chain safety net so funds never get stuck, with or without our site:

Nobody acts after fundingOnce the dispute window closes with no dispute, the escrow auto-releases to the seller — protection against a buyer who received the goods and went quiet.

A dispute stallsIf a dispute is open and the arbiter never rules by the contract deadline, an emergency timeout returns the funds to the default side (the buyer) on its own — no signature and no service fee. You can watch the countdown in the deal panel.

These paths are enforced by the covenant itself, not by us. Our disappearance can't freeze your money.

If the site is unavailable — the deal is still on-chain

The escrow is a public Kaspa covenant, and the contract is open source: github.com/pcdoctormsk-ctrl/kaspa-safe (Code → Download ZIP to keep a copy). What you can do without our website today:

Watch the escrow — paste the escrow address into kaspa.stream; balance and every move are public.
Verify the contract — the escrow covenant escrow.sil is open source: its rules are enforced on-chain by Kaspa consensus, independent of us.
Emergency timeout — if a dispute is open and the deadline passes, the covenant's timeout path returns funds to the default side on its own; it needs no key and no website.

Honest status: the command-line tools — escrowctl for the arbiter and a party-side CLI to build your own release / refund / dispute — are being published alongside the contract. Today those actions go through the panel, which reopens on any device from your recovery sheet (block above). The covenant guarantees your funds can only ever reach the buyer, the seller or the fee address regardless — so a lost website never means lost money, only a wait for the timeout at worst.

If you lose your key or the sheet

Recovery sheet lostYou lose the ability to act on your side (release / refund / dispute). The funds are not stolen — they still follow the deal's normal paths: the counterparty can still release or refund to you, and if it's disputed, the timeout returns them to the default side. We cannot recover your key — nobody can. Keep the sheet.

Chat key lostOnly the past conversation becomes unreadable to you; the deal itself and all money actions keep working with your main key.

What we will never ask for

If anyone asks you to send a private key, or your whole recovery sheet — it's a scammer.

The recovery sheet does not give OfficeForge access to your money. It exists for you — to reopen the deal and sign with your own keys. In a dispute you may deliberately reveal your chat key to the arbiter (it can't move funds), and never anything else. We don't store private keys, can't recover them, and will never ask — not in chat, not by email, not "for verification". Support (sales@officeforge.co) can walk you through the steps but has no access to keys or coins.

Before you ever need this page

Rehearse once with a small deal: create it, reopen it in a fresh browser from the sheet, and walk through release. A calm rehearsal is what saves you on a bad day.
